Get a web host and a domain (DK)

I'm sure you've heard the saying "you can't put a new TV in an old box." Well, that same principle applies to web hosting and domain names. If you're starting a web business, you need to get both a web host and a domain name. A domain is your website's address on the internet, while your web host is the place that stores all of your files and helps your site load faster. Hosting plans typically start around $3/month, and you can usually find a good deal on hosting during Cyber Monday and Black Friday! There are a ton of great hosting companies out there, but here are a few of my favorites: Bluehost (great for beginners) and Site Ground (great for larger sites). I hope this helps you get your website up and running in no time!

Write a blog post covering how you made a website. Include step-by-step instructions on how you made your site. Post a link to your website in the post. Your post should be at least 250 words in length and include at least one image. Turn your post in by the next Wednesday by midnight EST.

Explain why you made your website and why it's important for you. Show your readers how they can make a website, too. Let them know what other websites are out there that are similar to yours and how they could link to them or add their content to their websites. Your post should be at least 300 words in length and include at least two images. Turn your post in by the next Friday by midnight EST.

Create a video explaining how to make a website and upload it to YouTube or Vimeo. Include information about different website builders that are available and the pros and cons of each one. Post a link to your video in your blog post. The video should be at least two minutes long. Turn your video in by the next Tuesday by midnight EST.

Create an informative infographic that shows how to make your website. Include the steps involved in creating a website and the benefits of having a website for your business or organization. Post a link to the infographic in your blog post. The infographic should be between five and ten pages in size. Turn it in by the next Monday by midnight EST.

As already mentioned above, several alternatives to the traditional CMS like WordPress or Joomla. Web.com for example offers a really easy way to create a website as well as a content management system for those whose businesses do not really rely on the ease of use of a standard CMS.
